Clever Hopes is Andrew Shaver with a rotating bunch of pals, including Eva Foote, Matthew Barber, Daniel Ledwell, and Joe Grass.

The latest album, New Kind of Familiar, was recorded in March 2023 at Fang Recording in Dartmouth NS, live off the floor, featuring Afie Jurvanen (Bahamas) on various guitars, Joe Grass on various guitars, Kyle Cunjak on bass, and Joshua Van Tassel on the kit. It was once again helmed by Matthew Barber. It released in May 2024. Both, Blue Parachutes & The Only One (ft. Eva Foote) from the album were added to rotation on SiriusXM North Americana.

Artefact, the debut album, features Noah Reid on keys, Joe Grass on various guitars throughout, Justin Rutledge from time to time, Kev Foran on the brass, Matthew Barber on farfisa now and again, Steve Zsirai on bass, and Marshall Bureau on drums. Multiple songs from it were added to rotation on a several SiriusXM channels, as well as CBC Music, and CBC Radio 3 (R.I.P), including Je t’ai fait tant de peine (the french version of Made You Mad. It was recorded mostly live off the floor over 4 fall days in 2020 at Union Sound Company in Toronto.
